Corrections policy
We correct errors as quickly as we can. When we change a material fact, we note what was wrong and what we updated on the story page.
Principles
- Facts first. Primary sources preferred — gazettes, filings, on-record officials, named outlets.
- No invented quotes, death tolls, or anonymous-only bombshells.
- Clear labelling. Opinion is labelled Opinion.
- Independence. Coverage of companies and governments is editorial. Advertising, if introduced later, will be separated from news.
- No wire affiliation claims. AB24 is not AP, Reuters or AFP.
- Conflicts. Staff with material conflicts recuse; the publisher line remains James King.
- Company subjects. Reporting on firms such as SAEV Charge, Solar MD or SONAH Group does not imply ownership, sponsorship or publishing control by those firms.
How to request a correction
- Email [email protected] with: (1) the full story URL, (2) the exact passage you believe is wrong, (3) the corrected fact, and (4) a primary source link or document where possible.
- We aim to acknowledge within one business day (Africa/Johannesburg) and to publish a visible note on the story once the correction is verified.
- Disagreement with an Opinion judgment is not a correction; factual errors in Opinion are.
What we correct
Names, titles, figures, dates, locations, and any claim that misstates a verifiable fact. Spelling and grammar fixes that do not change meaning may be made quietly.
Opinion
Opinion pieces are labelled. We correct factual errors in opinion the same way; we do not “correct” matters of judgment.
Public corrections log
Material corrections published after the digital edition launch will be listed here with date, story link and summary. As of 29 October 2026 (Africa/Johannesburg), no material corrections have been logged for the digital edition.
